Today was the second event of SNMA's inaugural Black History Month Celebration. We watched a clip from the movie "The 13th" , enjoyed authentic Nigerian food, and engaged in a discussion by Olajumoke "Jummy" Okala-OMS 1 on the experience of being a black person in America today and how we can all become better advocates for the black community. A total of 30 people came to the second floor event including President Adams (seen below).
It was such a fantastic experience and I was so happy to see so many of my classmates be engaged in the discussion and ask questions! Having discussions about topics that are foreign to us is so important in the overall support and promotion of diversity. We are such blended and beautiful people and events like this celebrate that!
